Introduction
During the Ancient Greek times, specifically 500 B.C. many men
valued the importance of mathematics and science and educating others of new ideas and concepts. Many discoveries were
made some of which include mathematical theorems, methods, and ideas that we all use today. One man by the name of Pythagoras
of Somos was a Greek pholosopher whom was responsible for important developments in music, astrology, and mathematics. Pythagorean
was accountable for proving the Pythagorean Theorem, one of the most useful mathematical theorems in trigonometry and
Geometry. Student will learn about the meaning of Pythagorean Theorem and how to prove it as well. The Pythagorean
Theorem is very important theorem because it applies to both trigonometry and geometry and there are several applications.
Applications dealing with real world situations are extremely releant and apparent in this lesson making the theorem
also very useful. The Pythagorean Theorem states that the sum of the square of the legs of a right triangle is equivalent
to the square of the hypotenuse. Algebraically expressed as a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where c is the hypotenuse and a and b are
the other two legs of the of the triangle.
